Here is the class outline:
1. Launch Phase [WK 1]This phase kicks off the project. Learners are introduced to the topic and driving question. They engage in activities that spark curiosity and excitement, setting the stage for their investigation. |
2. Knowledge Building Phase [WK 2]In this phase, learners gather information and learn about the topic in depth. They conduct research, observe, and collect data to build a solid foundation of knowledge. |
3. Empathy Exploration [WK 3.1]Learners develop empathy by putting themselves in the shoes of those affected by the problem. They explore different perspectives and understand the emotions and experiences involved. |
4. Problem Definition [WK 3.2]Here, learners define the specific challenge or problem they want to solve. They analyze the information gathered and pinpoint the core issue that needs addressing. |
5. Ideation Generation and Prototyping [WK 4-5]Learners brainstorm and come up with a wide range of ideas and potential solutions. Creativity and open-mindedness are encouraged, with no idea being too wild or impossible at this stage. This is where learners will bring life to their ideas by creating models. They build tangible representations of their solutions, which can be simple sketches, physical models, or digital, that will allow them to test their solutions. |
6. Public Presentation [WK 6]Finally, learners share their solutions with others through presentations, demonstrations, or exhibitions. They celebrate their learning and achievements, reflecting on their journey and the impact of their work. |
