Online Course Registration
One of WeLearn’s core competencies is a thorough knowledge of all of the options available in the online education arena and beyond. When charting a WeLearner’s curriculum map, the Cartographer is able to pull from a variety of options.
Online education is generally directed learning that includes educational information (articles, videos, images, web links), communication (messaging, discussion forums) and one or more means of assessing the students. According to Wendy Woon, Director of Education at the Museum of Modern Art, an “online course is designed as a built environment for learning. It’s constructed as an experience that can be followed sequentially or can be accessed throughout the designated time period.”
Online schooling takes that concept a step further by replacing traditional school education with an entire curriculum of online courses, supplemented by “bricks and mortar” resources geared toward application of what’s being learned through the online lectures, as well as other school-related concepts such as extracurricular activities, clubs, and sports.
Online schooling presents myriad options, which can be daunting to say the least. The research alone, investigating multiple course options delivered through a range of curricular philosophies in multiple formats, can seem to be an impossible task for most parents. Fortunately, WeLearn’s expertise is in walking parents through all of the options available for a personalized education, using personalized, dynamic Learning Maps, facilitation and guidance, and experiential learning opportunities.
